a blogpost to all 2013/2014 STPM candidates

Good morning to all readers,

This is the admin after abandoning this blog for 1 year plus due to the tight schedule of studying and working.

Welcome back, and thanks for your continuous support for this page.

This is the day where our friends received their STPM results under the new semester system. Congratulations to those who obtained satisfying results, and you may leave now if you need more time for studying, your attention is highly appreciated.

To those who didn't score as well as you wished, this post is meant for you.

I have taken my STPM  in year 2006/2007 and graduated with a pointer of 3.42 from Klang High School. Lucky me, i have managed to be accepted into UPM's Computer and Communication Systems Engineering as my first choice in university application. I am now working in Intel Penang, Malaysia, using the latest Ultrabook provided by the company, receiving one of the highest paid salary ranges in the industry.

I scored 40 marks in my first Mathematical test, and i promised myself to work harder since i scored A1s in my Additional Maths and Modern Maths. It turned out that 40 marks was the highest score that i have ever got in my F6 study life. My lowest scores was 18 and 20 and i have never been so embarrassed in my whole life.

I remembered once a teacher told my friend that it was impossible to be accepted into UPM, since my pointer was below 3.5. Thanks to the bell curve of my batch, i was lucky to obtain a place.

The reason i am telling you this, is that, STPM results are important, but i was somehow overrated its impact on your future. I believe you will end up where you intended to be five years time with hard work and 100% effort, or nonetheless, somewhere equally better.

Form Six is the place you grew up, knowing that your previous achievements in SPM are meaningless as it is another level of challenge. It is all about the will, your will, to succeed, knowing that you will do, whatever it takes, for you to achieve your target.

You will realized, it is not enough, just to work a little bit harder compared to how you dealt with SPM.

You will realized that you have tried 100 %, but yet it isn't enough for you to score that grade you wanted.

You spent all your time, you sacrificed all your old hobbies, you even stopped seeing your friends, and yet you couldn't hit that bulls eye.

You aimed so hard, you kept your breath and held steady so long, and yet you still missed your apple, hurting you love ones who have put high hopes on you.

What made it worst, is that the new semester system, no one knows how its gonna be, as you are the very first batch.

In short, Form Six will beat you up so hard that you sometimes wished that you were never been born.

When all the above situations hit you, i have one advice for you

Never Give Up

Never give up although you are beaten, you climb back up, and fight back like a fighter.
"It ain't about how hard you can punch, its about how hard you can get hit, and then get back up."
~adapted from Rocky's speech to his son

Never give up, when you have no hope, and time is not on your side, you now have your own, and you have my support, you have my trust in you.

Never give up when people said that you couldn't do what you want to do. Turn your back to them, whisper it in your brain "Sit back and see me do what you said i cannot do".

Never give up, when you yourself lose faith in yourself, just remember these three words "Never give up"
That is what that really matters.

Take pride as a sixth former, you will be so proud of yourself when the day comes as you completed your STPM, and told someone you have gone through the STPM process.

They don't know our pain, our sweat, our blood, our tears, our sufferings, and that inner struggle that we have gone through. But you know, you yourself will remember it for the rest of your life. Years from now, you will still remember the defeated feeling you had, you will still remember the painful and sleepless nights you gone through, you will laugh at your suicidal thoughts that you had, you may speak of F6 as if its piece of cake in front of your non-F6 friends, but you yourself knew what you had been through.

I wish you all the luck in this world, and all the best for your future.

Never give up

Best regards,
Admin
